Welcome to L'Hirondelle-du-Lac Chambres d'Hôtes, a charming guest house nestling at the edge of the beautiful Peyrat-le-Château lake in the heart of the Limousin, in the area known as 'the land of Mountains and Dams' (Pays des Monts et Barrages), some 45 minutes by car from Limoges.

Enjoy the undulating landscape, unique to this region of France, once part of Eleanor's Aquitaine. Marvel at the history buried within the many châteaux and castles, which lie along such famous routes as those of Richard the Lionheart and St John of Compostelo. Discover the countless walking trails and cycling paths, some only a stone's throw from our front door. Fish in our local lake with daily or fortnightly permits or simply take the plunge and swim from the lake's sandy beach. At Lac de Vassivière, only a few minutes drive, you can indulge in water skiing, sailing, kayaking and wind surfing as well as swimming and fishing. Explore the endless natural beauty of the surrounding countryside or wander amongst the forests, hills and valleys where famous members of the French Resistance hid during more troubled times and whose exploits are celebrated by monuments and museums.

Christopher and Frankie will supply you with a comfortable room, a delicious continental breakfast and a home cooked three-course dinner (table d'hôtes) on request. We want you to have a fantastic time as there is so much to see and do, but we also want you to relax. L'Hirondelle du Lac offers a beautiful terrace during summer or a pleasant salon for you to enjoy in between the many excursions you'll want to embark on.

Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate young children below the age of 12.

Please note that we are a non-smoking guest-house and accredited by Gites de France.We do not accept pets.

We welcome Motorcyclists and have secure garaging for up to three touring motorbikes. The garage can also be accessed from within the house. Please call in advance to check availability.
